Anxiety

Aug 11 2016

What came first, anxiety or addiction? Irony dictates that anxiety leads to addiction and addiction leads to anxiety. Self-medicating anxiety with drugs and alcohol increase tolerance that eventually require more drugs and alcohol. Anxiety is only relieved for a short period of time, until the underlying reasons for the anxiety and consequently the circumstance for self-treatment result in addiction, double-trouble.

Anxiety comes in many forms: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Phobias.

Fear is the root of all anxiety, and abusing drugs and alcohol is not the only consequence. Anxiety, when left untreated can include eating disorders, failed relationships, unemployment, and social alienation. Anxiety is nothing more than our bodies reaction to our mind’s thoughts. Conditioned fear seeping through our pores laced with adrenaline. Our hearts race, skin sweats, and racing thoughts flood our mind.

Frequently feeling socially inadequate, without understanding our mind, our body, and our crippling fear. Treatment programs, such as Recovery Solutions of Central Florida, help many find a lasting and permanent relief from chronic anxiety.  Individual and group therapy, 12-step recovery, meditation, yoga, and nature are just a few prescriptions set by loving and caring professionals at Recovery Solutions of Central Florida.
